regulations

MATCH FORMAT

  • All matches will be played under the golden point rule, meaning that if the score reaches 40-40 (deuce), there will be no advantage or disadvantage. The team that wins the next point wins the game.
  • Matches will be played in a best-of-two sets format with a super tie-break, except:
    • Open category semifinals and finals, which will be played in a best-of-three sets format.
    • The plate tournament, will be played in a one-set format. However, if IPT determines that for a particular tournament there is availability for the Plate to be played in a best-of-two sets format with a tie-break, it may do so, provided that all players are notified before the event begins.

PARTICIPATION AND CATEGORIES

  • A minimum draw of 8 pairs is required for a category to take place.
  • The IPT guarantees the organization of the following categories: Men’s Open and Women’s Open
  • For other categories:

Even if registrations are open, IPT may reassign players to a different category if there are not enough pairs to hold the original category.

IPT may move players to a different category if it determines they are not at the appropriate level.

  • Once the registration period is closed or the maximum number of participants is reached in a category, IPT is not obligated to add any additional players.

CONDUCT AND CONFLICT RESULOTIONS

  • In case of fights or unsportsmanlike behavior, IPT has the authority to stop the match and disqualify the involved participants.
  • In case of doubt over a point, IPT officials may decide the outcome according to the International Padel Federation regulations.
  • IPT may postpone matches due to adverse weather conditions.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO CONSENT

By participating in the event, players and attendees grant IPT the permission to photograph and record videos of them during the tournament, for the purpose of creating content to be shared on IPT’s digital platforms. If a participant or spectator does not wish to be photographed or recorded, they must inform IPT prior to the event or at the venue. If no objection is made, it will be assumed that there is no issue with this.

IPT will respect any individual’s request to not be featured in such content.

REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY

  • If a player fails to show up for the event without prior notice, IPT may cancel their registration for the next tournament.

Cancellations before the registration deadline:

  • A full refund will be issued, except for Stripe processing fees.

Cancellations after the registration deadline:

  • No refunds will be given if the tournament draw has already been published.
  • Spots are limited, and late cancellations prevent other players from participating.
